Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original research articles that have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts must follow the IJAMSET formatting guidelines described below. Authors are required to use the official IJAMSET Article Template when preparing their manuscript. The template includes detailed inline instructions for each section that must be deleted before submission.

1. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must be organized in the following order:

  1. Title
  2. Author Names and Affiliations
  3. Corresponding Author
  4. Abstract
  5. Keywords
  6. Introduction
  7. Materials and Methods
  8. Results and Discussion
  9. Conclusion
  10. Authors' Contributions
  11. Funding Statement
  12. Acknowledgements (if any)
  13. Competing Interest
  14. AI Statement
  15. References

2. Page Layout

  • Paper size: A4 (210 x 297 mm)
  • Column: Single column
  • Line spacing: 1.15
  • Paragraph alignment: Justified
  • Manuscript length: 10 to 15 pages including figures, tables, and references

3. Title

  • Font: Times New Roman, Bold, 14 pt, Title Case
  • Maximum length: 20 words
  • The title must clearly indicate the main topic, material studied, and the key finding or objective
  • Avoid abbreviations and chemical formulas in the title

4. Author Names and Affiliations

  • Author names: Bold, with superscript numbers corresponding to affiliations
  • Affiliations: Italic, including department, institution, city, and country
  • Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*)
  • The corresponding author's email address must be included

5. Abstract

  • Length: 200 to 250 words, written as a single paragraph
  • Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt, line spacing 1.15
  • Must be written in the past tense and must include: (1) background and motivation; (2) research objectives; (3) methods employed; (4) main results; and (5) key conclusions
  • Do not include citations, abbreviations, equations, or references to figures and tables

6. Keywords

  • Provide 4 to 6 keywords, separated by semicolons
  • Do not repeat words already in the title
  • Choose terms that indexing services such as Scopus and Google Scholar would use to find your paper

7. Body Text

  • Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.15
  • Paragraph alignment: Justified

8. Section Headings

  • Heading 1: Bold, numbered (e.g., 1. INTRODUCTION)
  • Heading 2: Bold Italic, numbered (e.g., 2.1 Experimental Setup)

9. In-Text Citations

IJAMSET uses IEEE citation style with numbered references in square brackets. The following rules must be followed:

  • All citation numbers in the text must be written in Bold, e.g., [1], [2]
  • Citations must appear before the period at the end of the sentence
  • Single source: [1]. Multiple sources: [1], [2]. Range: [1]–[3]
  • Example of correct placement: "...as reported by previous studies [1]."
  • Example of wrong placement: "...as reported by previous studies. [1]"

10. Figures

  • All figures must be cited in the text in Bold (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2) before they appear
  • Figure captions are placed below the figure, centered
  • Format: Figure X. Caption of the figure.
  • Minimum resolution: 300 DPI
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF
  • For multi-panel figures, label each panel as (a), (b), (c) and describe each in the caption

11. Tables

  • All tables must be cited in the text in Bold (e.g., Table 1) before they appear
  • Table titles are placed above the table, centered
  • Format: Table X. Caption of the table.
  • Include standard deviation where applicable (e.g., 185.3 ± 4.2)
  • Table captions must be self-explanatory without reading the full text

12. Equations

  • Equations must be numbered consecutively in parentheses at the right margin: (1), (2), (3)
  • All variables must be defined immediately below the equation
  • Reference equations in the text as "Equation (1)" or "Eq. (1)"
  • Use the Microsoft Word Equation Editor — never insert equations as images

13. Authors' Contributions

Authors must describe the contribution of each author using bold initials. Contribution categories include: Conceptualization, Methodology, Data Curation, Formal Analysis, Investigation, Validation, Visualization, Writing (Original Draft), Writing (Review and Editing), Supervision, Project Administration, and Funding Acquisition.

14. Funding Statement

Authors must specify the source of funding including the funding organization name and grant number. If no funding was received, the following statement must be used: "This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors."

15. Competing Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could potentially influence the results or interpretation of the research. If no conflict of interest exists, the following statement must be used: "The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have influenced the work reported in this paper."

16. AI Statement

Authors must include one of the following statements regarding the use of AI tools in manuscript preparation:

  • If no AI tools were used: "This article is the original work of the authors without the use of AI tools for writing, creating, or editing sentences, tables, or figures in this manuscript."
  • If AI tools were used: "During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [Name of AI Tool] for [state specific purpose]. The authors have reviewed, verified, and take full responsibility for the entire content of this manuscript."

17. References

IJAMSET uses IEEE citation style with numbered references in square brackets [1], [2], [3].

  • References must be numbered consecutively in the order they first appear in the text
  • Minimum 20 references, primarily from international journal articles and conference proceedings
  • At least 80% of references must be from the last 3 years (2022 onwards)
  • Include DOI for all journal articles and conference papers where available
  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero with IEEE style

Journal Article:
J. Smith and A. Brown, "Advanced materials characterization using nano-indentation techniques," Journal of Materials Science and Engineering, vol. 10, no. 2, pp. 12-18, 2024. doi: 10.xxxx/xxxxx.

Conference Paper:

18. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism prior to peer review. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references) will be returned to the authors for revision.

19. File Format for Submission

  • Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) format using the official IJAMSET Article Template
  • File name format: FirstAuthorLastname_IJAMSET.docx
  • PDF submissions are not accepted for initial submission

20. Article Processing Charge

IJAMSET does not charge any Article Processing Charge (APC). Authors are not required to pay any fee for submission, peer review, or publication. All articles are published free of charge under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
